Casino Terms Glossary: Eight Words Players Misread in Rules and Promos
By VVJL Editorial Team
- 21 and over, by lawPhilippine gaming rules set the casino age at 21, so every VVJL page on vvjl1.io is written for adults past it.
- One partner behind every buttonBoth CTA buttons on vvjl1.io pass you on to 76JL, our partner platform; none of them points at a VVJL host.
- Rules read at the sourceAge limits and e-wallet steps are compared with PAGCOR and BSP public documents before they go on a page.
A casino terms glossary earns its keep because most arguments about a promo or a game come down to one word read two ways. The cause is that casino vocabulary borrows ordinary words and gives them narrow meanings, so a reader fills the gap with common sense and is wrong. This glossary fixes eight of them, with the place each one appears.
Casino Terms Glossary: Eight Words in Plain Terms
Why this happens. Game panels and promo pages use short labels with no definitions beside them. Players guess, and guessing about money is expensive.
What fixes it. Read the entry, then check the figure on screen.
| Studio and game | RTP printed | Volatility printed | Maximum win printed |
|---|---|---|---|
| PG Soft, Lucky Neko | 96.73% | Medium | x100000 |
| JILI, Super Ace | Not published | Low to medium band | 10000x |
RTP
Return to player averages out only across an enormous count of rounds, so it promises nothing for the session in front of you. Lucky Neko shows 96.73% and Mahjong Ways 96.92% on PG Soft’s pages, which list the figure for each title, while JILI publishes no RTP at all. You meet it in a game’s info panel.
Volatility
Volatility describes how unevenly a game pays. JILI prints a band such as low to medium and PG Soft prints a session volatility such as Medium. The slot volatility post explains what it does to a peso budget.
Maximum win
Studios cap a single result at a stated multiple of your stake; for Super Ace that ceiling is 10000x. It is a top end, not an average. You meet it in the studio’s game page.
Payline or ways
It is the rule that decides which symbol matches pay: a fixed line, or a count of ways across the grid. The payline basics covers the difference.
Terms About Stakes and Promos
Why this happens. The next four words sit on the money side, where a wrong reading costs more than a wrong guess about a game.
| Term | Where you meet it | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|
| Bet unit | The stake selector | You |
| Game weighting | A promo’s terms | The operator |
| Turnover | Wagering terms of a bonus | The operator |
| Loss limit | The platform’s limit settings | You, where offered |
What fixes it. Read each entry below next to the screen it names.
Bet unit
A bet unit is what you put on a single spin, and the number only makes sense next to the bankroll behind it. At 1% of a ₱2,000 bankroll, a unit is ₱20 and the bankroll covers about 100 spins. You meet it in the stake selector.
Game weighting
Game weighting decides how much of each wager a promo credits toward its target. One promo may credit a slot stake in full while crediting a table-game stake partly or giving it zero, and only its terms tell you which applies. You meet it inside the bonus rules, and only there.
Turnover
Turnover is the total amount staked, not the amount lost. A promo that asks for turnover before cash-out wants that total reached. You meet it in the wagering terms of a bonus.
Loss limit
Set on the platform, a loss limit stops play once losses over a chosen period reach the cap, so willpower is not doing the work. PAGCOR’s reminders advise setting limits before play. You meet it in a platform’s limit settings, where one exists.
Terms That Look Alike
Why this happens. Three of the words describe a game’s numbers and are constantly swapped. Keeping them apart removes a lot of promo confusion.
| Term | What it describes | A typical place to read it |
|---|---|---|
| RTP | Long-run average return | PG Soft’s game page |
| Volatility | How unevenly it pays | JILI or PG Soft game page |
| Maximum win | The ceiling for one result | The studio’s game page |
What fixes it. Ask which of the three a claim is about before you believe it.
Using the Glossary
Why this happens. A word on its own does not tell you whether a game or a promo is worth your time. The figure beside it does, and many pages leave the figure out.
What fixes it. When a page names a term but not its number, treat the term as unread. The legal age rules for online betting covers the rules that sit above all of this, and the login on the right host shows how to reach the lobby.
PG Soft and JILI differ on what they print, so the table above is a quick way to see which of the three numbers a studio gives you.
How to Get Started
-
Find the word you tripped on
Each entry is short and names where the term appears in a game panel or a promo.
-
Read the 'where you meet it' line
That line tells you which screen carries the word, so you can check it yourself.
-
Use the figures, not the label
A term is only useful with its number, so look for the figure beside it.
